Google Pay casino deposits hand over a stand-in number, not a card

€42.00

What the staking behind a floor payment is expected to cost where the counter reads 35 times and the credit is €30.00. Four cents in every euro staked stays with the games at a payback of 96 per cent. The counter sets that figure and a tap adds nothing to it. Worked at the shorter of the two counters this market runs at, read 13 October 2026.

Not one of the offers printed above holds a Great Britain licence. Outside that licence a British player has none of its protection: Gamstop Online cannot shut the door, the ten-times limit on bonus wagering does not bind the operator, and no British complaints body will take up a dispute. You must be 18 or over to open an account anywhere in this rack.

Every figure in the rack is a term the operator itself publishes, read on 14 October 2026. The operator's terms in full are the ones that bind you.

Where this wallet is carried the counter is what sets the price, so the strip takes the shorter counter of the two this market runs at. It quotes euros and the comparison keeps them, changing the multiple alone, because nothing on this sheet converts a currency. At 96 pence back in the pound with no round counting short, €1,050 of staking leaves €42.00 with the games against €30.00 of credit, so none is held. Ten times asks €300, leaves €12.00 behind and holds €18.00 at 67 cents a unit. Ten is what a Great Britain licence requires, and the licence behind a site of this kind is a Curacao, Anjouan or Costa Rica one. The wallet itself alters no figure in the table, and the longer counter in this market runs at 40 times on £20.

01

The wallet narrows the choice, and the counter sets the price

Some cashiers list this wallet and some skip it, so choosing it narrows the choice before a price is read at all. Those that do carry it are not interchangeable either: counters of 35 times and of 40 are both usual, and the counter is what the credit is priced on.

€42.00 against £32.00 is the retention on a floor payment at the two counters. Those are not comparable figures, because the credits behind them differ in size and in currency, so the table in part three prices both side by side rather than declaring a winner.

What the wallet contributes to either figure is nothing. It is a way of handing over a card without handing over the number, which is a security mechanism, and the counter is a term of the offer.

The wallet carried more widely is at apple pay casino. The networks underneath both are at visa casino and mastercard casino, the card type question at credit card casino, and every route in the section banded at how you pay.

02

A stand-in number arrives and the real one stays put

What the cashier receives is a virtual card number. The actual card number is replaced before the payment leaves, and the replacement is what the merchant sees, which is the whole of the wallet’s mechanism.

The naming has moved underneath that mechanism. Many people still use the older name for the tap-to-pay product, which a wallet has since succeeded, the older application having been replaced across most of the 39 countries in the roll-out. The payment behaves the same either way.

Three things the stand-in number does not do are worth printing beside the one thing it does. It does not make an account anonymous, since a first payout at sites like these wants papers. It does not remove the betting category tag the payment carries. And it does not alter the credit, the counter or the clock.

So the mechanism is about the card number and nothing else. A reader looking for privacy from the cashier gets it on the number. A reader looking for privacy from the rules gets none, and nothing on this page offers any.

03

The two counters usual here, priced against each other

€30.00 of credit at one, £20.00 at the other, and the counters differ by five. The table takes a floor payment at each and prices it through.

A floor payment at each of the two counters this market runs at. Terms read October 2026
Term Counter at 35 times Counter at 40 times
Floor payment €20 £20
Credit on it €30.00 £20.00
Staking owed €1,050.00 £800.00
Retained by the games €42.00 £32.00
Days to finish 14 7
Winnings ceiling 5x the credit 5x the credit
Bet ceiling €5 Not published

Three rows favour the left-hand column and one favours the second. A shorter counter, twice the window and a published bet ceiling against a smaller credit obligation in absolute terms. Neither is expected to leave anything, which is the point the counters make between them.

The right-hand column adds one term the first does not: its spins carry the same 40 times as its cash, so winning on a free spin there creates an obligation. The first pays spin winnings without any counter at all, which is the single largest difference between the two and it is not in the table because it is not a figure.

04

Three hundred thousand more people have switched a brake on

400,000 by January 2022 and over 700,000 by the time the current help pages were written. One bank publishes both counts, and no other publisher in this section publishes any.

Three bars of customer counts at one bank: four hundred thousand who had activated a card gambling block by January 2022, over seven hundred thousand who have used it according to the current help pages, and forty thousand as the ceiling on how many of the earlier group ever removed it permanently.
Take-up of one bank’s card brake. The January 2022 count was given as over 400,000 activations, with fewer than one in ten of those having ever turned the brake off for good. The later count, over 700,000, carries no date on the help pages. The third bar is this press’s own arithmetic rather than a published count: a tenth of 400,000 is 40,000, and because the published figure is fewer than a tenth, the true number sits somewhere below the bar drawn. Both published counts are given as minimums, so each bar is a floor. Source: that bank’s own help pages, read 13 October 2026.

Two things make those counts worth printing on a wallet page. What a brake of that kind looks at is a card payment going to a merchant tagged as gambling. A tap carries that tag, so the brake reaches a wallet payment. And the stickiness is the striking part: on the earlier figure, nine in ten of the people who switched it on never turned it off permanently.

The same bank describes its brake as one a customer can set for anything between two days and a year. Two other banks in this section publish a fixed wait of 48 hours instead.

05

Open banking is a second route and a different brake

An open banking route is carried rather more widely than this wallet. There the customer signs into their own bank and no card number is involved at any point.

That changes which brake applies. A card brake reads a card payment, so a payment made by bank sign-in can pass it. A brake for payments of that sort was piloted at one bank during 2021, alongside a provider in the field, and widened the following January. It bites only on providers that have chosen to plug into it.

So the honest position is that brakes are route-specific and the published coverage is incomplete. A reader relying on one should know which route it reads, and the broadest instrument is a different one altogether. Registering once with Gamstop Online shuts every gambling site carrying a British licence. The published count of registrations stood at 614,738 in the middle of July 2026. A site outside the British system is beyond the scheme, a limit the scheme prints itself.

The bank-sign-in route is priced at Skrill, Neteller and Trustly casino, where the provider’s own claims about speed are set out and attributed rather than stated as fact.

06

What the licensed side changes, and what it cannot

€42.00 becomes €12.00 and €18.00 of the credit survives. That is the arithmetic of the licence on this page, and it comes from the counter alone.

Beside it sit the duties with no price attached. A licensed cashier establishes identity before anybody plays rather than before a first payout. It joins the national self-exclusion scheme because the licence requires it. Its complaints machinery runs a published route against a limit of eight weeks. And since 17 January 2025 it has had to show net spend and time elapsed while play is going on.

The wallet is identical on both sides of that comparison. The same stand-in number, the same tag, the same nil effect on a counter. A phone wallet is a method of payment and the licence is a set of duties, and the two never meet.

Not one of the sites in this bracket carries a Great Britain licence. What a reader gives up as a result is short to list. A counter at three and a half or four times the British ceiling, an account the self-exclusion register cannot close, a dispute with nowhere British to go, and an operator the regulator cannot touch. Those losses are taken apart one at a time across outside the licence.

07

Both counters, worked through together

Six lines, three for each counter, with the deposits left outside them.

A floor payment, costed at 35 times and at 40

  1. Credit where the counter reads 35 €20.00 × 1.5 = €30.00
  2. Staking it owes there €30.00 × 35 = €1,050.00
  3. Retained there, 4 cents in the euro 4% of €1,050.00 = €42.00
  4. Credit where the counter reads 40 £20.00 × 1 = £20.00
  5. Staking it owes there £20.00 × 40 = £800.00
  6. Retained there, against £8.00 at the British ten 4% of £800.00 = £32.00

Neither credit is expected to last: €42.00 exceeds €30.00 and £32.00 exceeds £20.00. Held to the British ten, the shorter counter would ask €300 and keep €12.00, leaving €18.00, and the longer would ask £200 and keep £8.00, leaving £12.00, with 67p or 67 cents of cost behind each surviving unit. The two currencies are never added together here, because no exchange rate stands behind this sheet. Outside the sum: a winnings ceiling of five times the credit on both sides, a window of 14 days against one of seven, a bet ceiling of €5 where one is published at all, and reels as the only product moving either counter.

Questions about this wallet

Is this wallet carried widely?
Less widely than the other phone wallet and less widely than either card network. Where it is carried the terms still differ: a counter of 35 times comes with a fourteen-day window and a published bet ceiling of €5, while a counter of 40 comes with seven days and often no published bet ceiling.
What does the cashier receive when I tap?
A virtual card number. The real card number is replaced before the payment leaves, and the replacement is what the merchant sees. That is the whole of the mechanism, and it protects the number rather than the money.
Does the stand-in number make the account anonymous?
No. A first payout at sites like these wants papers, so an account opened by tap meets its identity step on the way out. The stand-in number also leaves the betting category tag on the payment, which is what any brake reads.
Which of the two counters is cheaper?
Neither is expected to leave anything, which is the finding. The shorter counter tends to arrive with the longer window and a published bet ceiling, and to pay spin winnings with no counter at all. The counter of 40 is more often applied to spin winnings as well as to cash.
Will a card brake stop a tap to these sites?
Yes, where one is on. What a brake of that kind looks at is a card payment going to a merchant tagged as gambling, and a tap carries that tag. One bank publishes over 400,000 activations by January 2022 and over 700,000 on its current pages, with fewer than one in ten of the earlier group ever turning it off for good.
Does a brake cover a bank sign-in payment too?
Not automatically. A card brake reads card payments, so a payment made by signing into a bank can pass it. One bank piloted a brake for that route during 2021 and widened it the following January, and it bites only on providers that have chosen to plug into it.
Has the wallet been renamed?
Many people still use the older name for the tap-to-pay product, which a wallet has since succeeded, the older application having been replaced across most of the 39 countries in the roll-out. The payment behaves the same either way, and so does everything in the price line above.
What would a British licence change?
At the shorter counter the retention would fall from €42.00 to €12.00 and €18.00 of the credit would survive. Beyond the arithmetic: identity settled before play, membership of the self-exclusion register, a complaints route limited to eight weeks, and net spend with time elapsed on the screen during play since 17 January 2025.
