Terms: the conditions this site is published under
The minimum age for everything described anywhere on this site. Not a recommendation, not a house rule and not negotiable: a licensed operator has to establish a customer’s age before letting them gamble at all.
01
Adults only, enforced by somebody other than this site
Everything printed here concerns gambling and is written for people of 18 and over. The duty that makes the age real belongs to the operator, not to a notice on a page: a licensee has to establish a customer’s name, their address and their birth date before any gambling is permitted, and the obligation has run since 7 May 2019. It covers more than cash play, reaching a bonus, a free bet and any gambling game offered at no charge.
Nobody under 18 should use this site. Nothing on it is written for children, and British rules bar gambling marketing from being the sort of thing children find strongly appealing in any event.
02
What is published here, and the one thing sold
This publication prints arithmetic about gambling offers and the rules those offers sit under. It operates no gambling, holds no money, takes no stake and keeps no customer balance. There is no account to open at this address and nothing here can be won or lost.
One thing is sold, and it is advertising space. Every slot in the ranking block has been paid for, and this site is owed a fee when a reader registers an account from one of those links. The full statement of that arrangement is on how we are paid, and the method the figures are produced by is on how we score an offer. Using the site costs a reader nothing at any point.
03
The operator’s own conditions are what bind a reader
A figure on a page here is correct on the day shown at the top of that page and no later. Offers move, terms are rewritten and products are withdrawn, generally without notice to anybody outside the operator. Where a page and an operator’s own conditions disagree, the operator’s conditions govern the relationship, because that is the contract a customer enters into.
Those conditions are not unregulated, which is worth knowing before reading them. A licensee’s terms have to be fair and transparent in the sense the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives those words, have to be easy to get at, and material changes have to be notified before they take effect. A licensee must also keep clear of any unfair commercial practice as the Act of 2024 covering digital markets, competition and consumers defines one, and that duty runs through every stage of its dealings with a customer.
Incentives carry rules of their own. An incentive has to come with terms that are clear, that are transparent, that are fair, and that anybody offered it can readily get at. An operator may not alter the receipt, the value or the amount of an incentive because the qualifying spend or activity was reached faster than the period the offer ran for. If the Commission asks, a licensee must produce its own evidence for having concluded that its terms are not unfair.
04
None of this is advice about money, law or tax
The pages here describe what rules require and work out what terms cost. They do not recommend gambling, do not recommend any operator and do not tell any reader what to do with their money. Nothing printed is financial advice, legal advice or tax advice, and nobody here is authorised to give any of the three.
Arithmetic on these pages is expectation across many attempts, which says nothing whatever about one attempt. A figure describing what a bonus is expected to be worth is an average, not a forecast, and a reader who treats it as a forecast has misread it.
05
The words, the tables and the drawings
The text, the tables, the worked sums and the drawings on this site belong to the publisher. They may be quoted for comment, review or reporting, with the page named and a link back to it. Republishing a page whole, or lifting its tables into another site, is not permitted.
What does not belong to the publisher is anything quoted from somebody else. Regulatory text, statute, advertising codes and a scheme’s own terms belong to the bodies that wrote them, and they are quoted here under their own conditions. Where a figure comes from a published source it is attributed to that source with the date it was read.
06
Where a link goes once it leaves here
A link to a page elsewhere is a reference, not an endorsement, and nothing beyond the edge of this site is under the publisher’s control. Pages move, operators change hands and a link that worked in the morning can fail by the evening. A broken one is worth reporting through write to us.
The sharpest version of that caution concerns sites with no British licence. Where such a site appears on this publication, what is printed is the cost of the missing licence: the national exclusion scheme does not reach it, wagering there is not held to ten times anything, no complaints body in Britain will take the file, and the Commission cannot act for a player against it. Trading without a Commission licence is itself unlawful, and one consequence the Commission names is that the major payment organisations may pull an operator’s payment facilities away.
07
Who has the power to act when something goes wrong
Not this publication. A dispute about an account runs to the operator first, on a timetable set out on write to us, and then to an independent adjudicator if the operator’s answer does not settle it. The regulator’s own position is that resolving an individual dispute is no part of its job.
The record shows what does shift an industry, and it is not correspondence from a website. Competition authorities and the regulator between them took out a run of withdrawal and bonus terms in the late 2010s, and the undertakings are published.
| Who | When | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| Competition and Markets Authority | 21 October 2016 | Its investigation into online gambling terms opened. |
| Ladbrokes, William Hill and PT Entertainment | 1 February 2018 | A player’s own money can be taken out while a bonus promotion is running. |
| BGO Entertainment | 23 March 2018 | Nothing to play through on money the player put in, and no floor on a withdrawal used as a way of trapping a whole balance. |
| Jumpman Gaming and Progress Play | 29 August 2018 | No ceiling on a withdrawal, and nothing taken from a dormant account. Progress Play also gave up confiscation where an identity check had been missed. |
| Gambling Commission | 29 August 2018 | The whole industry was told to strip unfair withdrawal restrictions out. |

What the publisher answers for
The publisher answers for the accuracy of what it prints against the sources it cites, and corrects an error once it is shown one. It does not answer for an operator’s conduct, for a term changed after a page was printed, for money lost gambling, or for a decision a reader takes after reading a figure. Nothing in this paragraph limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and a reader’s statutory rights stand untouched.
These terms may be revised, and a revision is published here with the day printed above it moved forward. Continuing to read the site after that is taken as acceptance of the version then standing. The law of England and Wales applies to them, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
